Tuesday, December 21, 2021, Suntono SE, M.Si, the head of BPS for Sulawesi Selatan Province, had the opportunity to deliver a study related to the economic condition of Luwu Timur at the Orientation Meeting of the One Data Indonesia Forum, Luwu Timur Regency. In his presentation he presented an indication of a slowdown in Luwu Timur's economic growth which needs to be anticipated so that the slowdown does not continue.

Based on BPS data, the largest contribution to Luwu Timur's GRDP is the Mining and Excavation sector followed by the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector. The existence of mining companies in Luwu Timur, the growth of the Mining and Excavation sector tends to be identical to mining companies so that the impact on the community's economy is limited only to the company and its surroundings.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector is a leading sector that has great potential in Luwu Timur which can be further optimized so that it can have a wider impact on the economy of the people of Luwu Timur. In addition to these two sectors, there are several other sectors that also have potential so that more attention can be given in order to further support the economic conditions of Luwu Timur.

The availability of data is considered very important in various sectors. Without data it will be difficult to make clear plans regarding the direction of development policies. Valid data is the main key to successful development. For this reason, BPS in the future will collaborate with the Regional Government and all OPD and Vertical Agencies within the Luwu Timur government to realize One Indonesian Data (SDI). With the realization of SDI, it is hoped that data documentation will be better so that all development plans and policies are more targeted.
