August 2025, Year-on-Year (YOY) Inflation for Luwu Timur Regency is 4.03 percent

Malili, (1/9) - BPS Luwu Timur Regencyrecorded a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate of 4.03 percent in Luwu Timur Regency in August 2025. "The consumer price index (CPI) increased from 106.19 in August 2024 to 110.47 in August 2025," explained the Head of BPS Luwu Timur Regency, Muh Husri Harta Saham, SE, MM. On a monthly basis, inflation was 0.70 percent, and the calendar year inflation was 3.46 percent.

The spending group that contributed the most to annual inflation was food, beverages, and tobacco group, which experienced an inflation of 8.09 percent, with an inflation contribution of 3.28 percent. The personal care and other services group saw a y-o-y inflation of 5.92 percent in August 2025, contributing 0.31 percent to inflation. The transportation group had a y-o-y inflation of 0.18 percent and contributed 0.11 percent to inflation.

"Based on commodities, the y-o-y inflation in August 2025 was primarily driven by most food commodities," Husri explained. The commodities that were the dominant contributors to y-o-y inflation in August 2025 included: rice at 0.68 percent; shallots at 0.56 percent; tomatoes at 0.40 percent; skipjack tuna/scaled fish at 0.29 percent; mackerel scad/shortfin scad at 0.27 percent; ground coffee at 0.26 percent; milkfish at 0.21 percent; fresh shrimp at 0.15 percent; mackerel/Indian mackerel at 0.14 percent; chicken eggs at 0.11 percent; cooking oil at 0.09 percent; machine-made clove cigarettes (SKM) at 0.09 percent; house rent at 0.08 percent; bar soap at 0.08 percent; gold jewelry at 0.07 percent; cars at 0.06 percent; tuna at 0.06 percent; machine-made white cigarettes (SPM) at 0.05 percent; mosquito repellent coils at 0.05 percent; and motorcycles at 0.05 percent.
